Teach us to pray!

Mark 11: 22 Then Jesus said to the disciples, “Have faith in God. 23 I tell you the truth, you can say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. But you must really believe it will happen and have no doubt in your heart. 24 I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours. 25 But when you are praying, first forgive anyone you are holding a grudge against, so that your Father in heaven will forgive your sins, too.”

There it is... Jesus' word!
Have faith in God.
What is your mountain?  Is your mountain personal and having only to do with you? Does it have a name like cancer or diabettes?  Does your mountain involve the salvation of another?  Could your mountain be a prodigal son or daughter? Is your mountain mental anguish over something in the past that you cannot make peace with?

Jesus is talking to his disciples and teaching them how to pray.  Now, if we are truly Jesus' disciples we will want to learn from Him.  The very same lesson that he taught the first time is still the same one for us today.  Nothing can happen without faith.

You must really believe it will happen
and have no doubt in your heart.

Lastly, we have to remember his remaining words here in respect of the promise.

But when you are praying,
first forgive anyone
you are holding a grudge against,
so that your Father in heaven
will forgive your sins, too.
